Laborers Along Side Me

Do you remember those times when you had to move and pack your whole house into million boxes and spend days maybe a whole week storing everything. Then the fun part comes! (NOT!) And you have to physically carry all this and put it into the car/van and haul it away only to unload it into your new place walk up a million stairs (or so it feels like it) only to take everything out. Frustrating isn't it!
When you move everyone desires help, a friend, a laborer, some one to help whether it's 2-4 hours or the whole day, it really doesn't matter how long.
 You just want help! Right?

That's a exactly a point I wanted to make/point-out on today's blog.  We all need laborer's to help us in time of need.

God has shown me a truth, a revelation and understanding of some things regarding His Kingdom and how things work. I want to share that truth, knowledge and wisdom with you.

Being a missionary I' ve realized the IMPORTANCE of FUNDING GOD'S KINGDOM. I want to clarify that you are not funding men or woman or "people" in general. But your financing God's Kingdom and are pouring it into people or in this case, missionaries to do so.

Me as a missionary here I' m learning that its a hard thing to rely on the body of Christ to fund you when they dont have a revelation or a vision to BUILD God's Kingdom. Do you have a revelation to see souls won to Jesus? To see people saved? To see people delivered from their addictions? To see people FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS? Do you have that in your heart?

It's not easy, we LITERALLY rely on God for our daily bread, we dont ever have anything secure, we dont ever know if we will have enough rent money, we dont know if we will have funds to go to the States to visit family and friends. We cant have medical insurance because there is no funds, we don't know if we will have hot water for a shower because it was cut off.

We are limited in our ministry due to lack of funds, we can't proceed in building a building or a location for an orphanage because we need land and a home. All that requires funds, not to mention when the orphanage is up and running, it will require a great deal of monthly steady income to feed the amount of children that were taken in. Traveling expenses are high and money is always insufficient.

Missionaries have laid down their life's for the sake of others, for the sake of the gospel to be spread, for the message of Christ, the Cross, and Redemption to be heard. The gospel is free but it cost money to get it out. Missionaries should not have to eat crumbs and scraps off of the table of the Lord.

3 John 1:6-8(NLT), "They have told the church here of your loving friendship. Please continue providing for such teachers in a manner that pleases God.  For they are traveling forthe Lord, and they accept nothing from people who are not believers. So we ourselves should support them so that we can be their partners as they teach the truth."

When we support them (missionaries) not only do we partner with them as they teach the truth, but we please God as well. God's vision is to see His word preached and when you fund missionaries  you are funding the TRUTH and the LIGHT, you are spreading the HOPE of Jesus to many who are dying with out a SAVIOR.

My vision/the reason I wrote today's blog is to awaken people to understand the need to grow God's Kingdom by supporting missionaries. To understand that there are people laboring tirelessly, there are people who have given up everything, family, friends, homes, comfort, all for the gospel, PEOPLE WHO HAVE COUNTED THE COST AND HAVE ACCEPTED THE CALLING AS IT IS. We as their brothers and sisters in Christ don't even support them in a way where they can minister effectively, we leave them with the minimum and expect them to have "faith" for the rest, when God clearly has/does/and will continue to always use man to complete His Will.

Jesus is the head and we are the body of Christ. If one part fails, we all fail. There needs to be unity in the body of Christ and understand we are all working to build GOD'S KINGDOM and understand we are not individually building our own kingdoms and ministries; there's a bigger picture here and we can't lose focus.

Luke 10: 2, "

And He said to them, The harvest indeed is abundant [there is much ripe grain], but the farmhands are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

I have been praying this, that God would send people to help. It doesn't mean I expect people to quit their job's and move to Peru. But it means, to me, being here with me in spirit, praying for us here (Jose, Kat & Me) that we bear MUCH FRUIT for JESUS, that disciple's would be added to Jesus, not to us. That we lead people into a lifestyle to FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS. That is our goal, our prayer, that people would see HIM for who HE truly is.

I want to sincerely thank those who have labored WITH US, in the spiritual fields of Peru. Through PRAYER, FINANCES, and PHYSICALLY COMING HERE to help us, and for those who have sent CARE-PACKAGES to us to remind us of home.

My prayer is that as you read this God will open/unveil certain things to you. To remind you that there is Kingdom work to be done and that there is a need for laborers. I encourage you to give your time, money, talents TO GOD. For HIS purpose, for SOULS. I want you to direct your focus to God and HIS WILL. Not to man, to us, or to missionaries.

We need to empty hell and fill heaven. So let's work together, let's labor together, let's till the ground, let's prepare the soil, let's plant seeds, let's water it, watch it grow with me, and help me gather the harvest and collecting it.

This is an invitation to GET INVOLVED~!

God has shown me that when people sow into our lives they become laborers in the ministry along side with us.

Thank You, for laboring  a long side me.

At the moment most of our needs are financial.

A few have asked what we need people to pray for, so here is a list of things that you can keep in prayer for us. As things change I will change the list.

ECUADOR & BACK TO LIMA PLUS SOME CHICKENS>>>

Our great adventure to Ecuador was one of those things where you have a basic idea of the plan and a few ideas of how it will come together. But in the end it's really not much like you thought it would be at all.

We started out our trip by going to Piura. Jose has family there and we have connected with a Missionary there too. Our main purpose was to really just visit and see what it's like there. Piura is a region but there is also a city called Piura. That is where we went. After living in a big city it's easy to forget that Peru is a developing country. In Lima we have many modern conveniences that are similar to America. Fast food, better roads, etc.. There are still dirt roads and shacks for houses in many parts of Piura.

We still aren't sure if the city of Piura is where we will end up or if we will be going to another area. Jose's family was telling us about an area close by that is full of witch doctors, its called Huancabamba- Piura, Peru. There are several parts of the region that don't have even one church. The word of God is so needed there. It's hard to know where to start.

Slums as far as the eye can see

Another shot of condense poverty

This is a Pastor's church we talked too

That's the Pastor in green and the other guy is Jose.
He is doing AMAZING things in the slums. NO JOKE.

House made out of straw/i think bamboo sticks

Sunday night we took a bus back to Piura. The bus left at 8pm and I was feeling under the weather.  We were going to cross the border around 2 am . After we were on the bus for awhile something woke me up. It sounded like...a chicken? no, several chickens. And it was. A lady with a cage full of chickens got on the bus at the second stop and stayed on all the way to Piura. Those chickens would screech and all the rest would start to chatter at each other. Then the lady who brought them would "sh-sh-sh-sh" as if they were a fussing child. It was ridiculous.

Once we go to the border we found out that the system was shut down and we had to wait for 1 hour for them to turn it on, so we waited till about 3 something in the morning. It wasn't fun trying to switch buses and 6 people luggage's (jose+kat+the 2 boys+mine+jose's dad stuff) from one bus to another at that hour either once we went from Ecuador into Peru.

From Piura we took another bus which was much nicer and more comfortable to get home. The trip was Monday night-Tuesday morning. It was a 16 hour bus trip.

Now we have 90ish days to get our visas or leave the country again (Feb. 20 is the date all this needs to happen by). Please pray that God would provide the finances for the visas for 5 people which is $2,000. The trip we took was an adventure, just not something I want to be doing every 3 months.  Thank you all for keeping us in prayer while we were traveling. We saw the hand of God in many ways.

Here are some pictures of Ecuador. It was an amazing place, NOTHING I expected.

We made it to Peru!

Ok... So everyone is ok and safe, we made it to Lima, Peru around 11:30pm...And we got to our apartment (that were renting for 1 week) around 12am-ish.

Jose's dad Pedro, came ahead of us and found this place in Mira Flores, in the mean time till we get settled and rested in our new home. We have been on the road for a couple of weeks and we FINALLY got a good night's rest. It had been awhile after having a tight schedule.

When I first got off the plane the first thing that came to mind was, THIS IS MY HOME NOW. I mean seriously, this is not a vacation, this is not a "short term" 2 month-6 month deal. This is IT!!! This is where God sent me to share Jesus with everyone and lead them to the Lord.

So, as far as this being my new home, like any new home, there will definitely be an adjustment period. It's very chilly here right now. It's over casted, and it was a different feeling being woken up to car horns and the sounds of the hustle and bustles of a busy city.

Right now Jose, Kat, and Pedro (joses's dad) are online drinking coffee, and doing some planning for the day. Today we are gonna try to achieve at looking at a few houses because this apartment is temporary, we need to find a place that we know we will live there for a year.

Next time I blog I will post more pictures, the picture that is on this blog is a picture over-looking our balcony were on the 15th floor.

Things for you guys to pray for:
- That we find a 3-4 bedroom house/furnished/washer and dryer/ in a neighborhood called La Molina/ all under $1,000
-For God's favor to be on us during our every day life here, ever since we started this, we have seen God's favor work in our live's and it has blown us away. He is faithful!
-That I can get a "religious visa" (missionary purpose) in less than 90 days. My tourist visa is 90 days, so with in that time I need to have all the finances and paper work for my religious visa so i can be here longer. I will be needing about $500 ...If you would like to help WITH ANY amount so I can begin this process, let me know :)

Thank You guys for praying for us, and keeping us in mind. We appreciate all all support.

Some Peru facts about the children there

Here are a bunch of statistics that are really heart breaking. While I don't put my trust in statistics these are a good indication that we live in a hurting and dying world. I wanted to share them so those of you that are interested and/praying for us can have an idea of what we will be working with.

Many children in Peru are sent to work to support their families in spite of child labor being against the law. Two out of ten children ages 6-11 work and there are more than 3 million children working in Peru. Due to the high and persistent levels of poverty, Peruvian children are often sent out by their parents to earn money on the streets. This might be by selling sweets or crafts, begging, performing acrobatics, or in one of many other ways.

Studies show that 90% of street children come from rebuilt (with step-father or step-mother) or mono-parental families, or from rural families that had 'given' their child to other people (relatives or not) to be raised by the latter in the city.

Children are often blamed and at the receiving end of family disputes so much so that the streets appear as a better alternative than the family home. Too scared and afraid of another episode of violence, the children run to the streets for the comfort and refuge they so badly seek. One research project found that 73% of the street children they interviewed cited family violence and child mistreatment as reasons for taking to the streets. The report also suggests that most street-living boys in Peru are children who had become 'scapegoats' in their family; blamed for causing conflict and stress, and maltreated when their families were going through a crisis.

These statistics illustrate not only the need for a safe haven for homeless children. They also illustrate the need to build godly men to reverse the curse of fatherlessness. Our desire is to teach these “men” that “Maturity doesn’t come with age but begins with the acceptance of responsibility” (-Edwin Louis Cole) and not just accepting responsibility for yourself but for those around you.
