Great things are yet to come....

So this past week has been full of awesomeness.

Since, I've been here in Lima, Peru I have seen God's promises come to pass, over and over again. I'm at a lost for words at the things Jesus is doing in the people's lives' here and how THEY change me. There's such a hunger in these people's spirit to know about Jesus, and grow in their faith.

Being here in Peru I have been doing full-time ministry non-stop. As soon as we got here we hit the floor running, of course there has been rest stops here and there. The church here has really been handing Jose and I A LOT of responsibilities. I'm highly involved with the youth, and I'm diving into head on full force, and LOVING IT, there really isn't any solid leaders, so it's a privilege to raise leaders. Right now I'm responsible to raise 6 leaders, and these six leaders are gonna "replace" me when I leave in a year. I'm also one of the 3 main leaders out of the whole youth, I also preach to the youth once every 3 weeks. Which is challenging to me because the language is still a obstacle that I'm trying to master. 

Being put in a position like that has really made me self examine my-self a lot more. I have done nothing to deserve this much influence and responsibilities over the youth group here. God's grace over me has really been bringing me to more brokenness; always asking my self, "who am I that God sees fit that I have this much say and pull/influence."

Either way, I have known from the beginning that Jesus has been the main one in control, and there has been nothing I can do to change HIS will. All I need to do is just be obedient and faithful to Him.

On Thursday we visited an orphanage. I wanted to take pictures but in Peru it is illegal to take pictures of minors, so I couldn't. But I got a few pictures of the building and the gate. Sorry, I really wanted to take pictures of the kids. Here goes some.

So our reason for going to the orphanage was to see how this specific orphanage runs things. Every different orphanage has a different models, this one specifically does not allow kids to be adopted they basically just take care of 35 -55 kids them selves and once they reach the age of 18 they basically tell them to move out and get a job and a apartment. Also some of the kids here are there because of family issues, like father is gone, and mother is in jail, or both parents are addicts, or physical abuse (not sexual). So they take in those kids, but with the intentions of returning them back to the family once the parent or family member is stable enough to take care of them. 

While there we were able to see their dormitories and where they eat, and learn basic "life-skills". The kids wash their own clothes, and grow their own fruits, and vegetables, and maintain the property themselves. Which is understandable considering this place IS THEIR HOME, and like every child in every home, they all have chores and responsibilities. Next to the dormitories was the school, we were able to go see them during their classes. We went to a class of 4 year olds, when the orphanage director opened the class room door the little kids RAN TO US. We were overwhelmed by hugs, smiling faces, and curious innocent children. It was such a blessing to just talk to these kids. They were all well mannered and loving, they all wanted to hug, and play, and ask questions. After about 10 or so minutes, we had to walk away, because we basically interrupted their class. Then they returned to class, and we continued our "tour" of the facility. So as the tour ended we continued our conversation about orphanage laws, and regulations & left with a  greater understanding of the need.

Heading there and back we were able to see people living in shacks on the mountain side. It is literally a shack, made out of wood and tin.

---CHANGING SUBJECT----

So since we have been here at this church we noticed that there has been a few young men wearing "Skinny Jeans". So Jose talked to one of them and told him to burn their girl jeans. Next thing you know news spread and other people want to burn other stuff as well. So I was there to record the whole things, girl jeans and satanic music was burned up. Praise JESUS! These kids are changing and are zealous and excited to get rid of these things that are in their life. Here are some pics of that night.

Finally...Some recharging time!

Hello world.

So this past 1 week-2 weeks I have been running around helping with the "Salvamos a la Familia" conference, (Save the family)... The Pastor here in Lima, Peru that we are under, (Ps. Guillermo Aguayo) has been doing this conference for 4 years, and this year celebrating the 5th year with a bang!. The conference in it self focuses on the importance on saving and leading your family to through Christ and raising awareness on domestic abuse within spouses.

                                      

During the conference we also went to the Congress of Peru to explain the importance of Christ and family and to speak to all these influential people in the government in hope that they can make Christ like decisions with in their influential jobs and when they make decisions on passing laws. 

                                          

                                          

During this conference I was able to see my Power House family. Also I was overjoyed just listening to my Pastor speak, it was very refreshening. I just want to say, don't get "used" to the teaching, let it be a FRESH revelation every time. Since I have been in Peru, I have seen that everything that I have learned in Bethany and at Power House has been a tremendous help here, and because I was taught that, as a Christian I'm ahead of a lot more people. But on the flip side, it is my responsibility to show the people of Peru what they don't know.

                            

That Sunday Pastor G.F. Watkins preached at Pastor Guillermo's church Las Casa Del Padre (The Father's House). Pastor Watkins preached on what scripture are you basing your salvation on. Out of the whole congregation of about 300 hundred-ish only 2 people used scripture for the reason why we are saved. My scripture on why I'm saved is:

Ezekiel 36:26-31 (New Living Translation)

²⁶ And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.^[a] 27 And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.²⁸ “And you will live in Israel, the land I gave your ancestors long ago. You will be my people, and I will be your God. ²⁹ I will cleanse you of your filthy behavior. I will give you good crops of grain, and I will send no more famines on the land. ³⁰ I will give you great harvests from your fruit trees and fields, and never again will the surrounding nations be able to scoff at your land for its famines. ³¹ Then you will remember your past sins and despise yourselves for all the detestable things you did."

What's yours?

As most of you know we got our house(duplex) already. The way we got the duplex is actually a testimony in it self. The owner knocked about 40% OFF the original rent price and she FULLY furnished the place and we get to KEEP THE FURNITURE in the end of the lease. Everything in this house is either brand new or 3 months old. Either way, it's a blessing, and were thankful that God has shown us tremendous, undeserving favor.

At the end of the month Jose and Kathryn both (only them) will be traveling to Piura, Peru to see what God has in-stored for us there. Keep them in prayer about safe travels, open doors, and finances, and most important that God's power would be manifested through them.

Thank you guys for your prayers we got the house we NEEDED.

Things to continue to pray about:

-That God will show us strategies and will continue to guide us while we being this harvest season of souls for Jesus.

-That doors open to preach the gospel in an orphanage that we are gonna get connected with NEXT WEEK on Thursday. (WOOHOO !!!! 

-Today we met with the guy that is gonna get our religious visa. Down side that it is $400. Please pray that Jesus provides, if you want to help with any amount you can give into my pay-pal account.

Also PRAISE REPORT:

Our land-lord had cancer and had some tumors and I prayed over her and when she went to the doctor to go and see about removing these lumps she had nothing wrong with her. So ever since we came here God has been connecting us to people that have lead to alot of open doors, weve been having RIDICULOUS FAVOR, and were given great opportunities to share Jesus. Anyways keep us in prayer please. Pray that we continue to be vessels that carry God's presence and continue to impact peoples lives for Jesus.
